The I Can Network is looking for new members to join our family!
At I CAN Network, we are driving a rethink of Autism, from ‘I Can’t’ to ‘I CAN’. Our purpose is to inspire a confident ‘I CAN’ attitude in the hearts and minds of young Australians on the Autism Spectrum and the communities around them. Join our rethink of ‘AWEtism’ so that everyone benefits from the ‘I CAN’ self-belief.

Social Media Officer, I CAN Network

(Volunteer role spanning March – December 2015)

The purpose of this role will be to create and maintain the I Can Network’s presence on various social media sites. ↓ Show details

Responsibilities:

  • Answer queries on social media sites and the I Can website using the I Can ‘voice’
  • Execution of all social media activities e.g. tweeting, sharing, engaging, liking, increasing audience
  • Analyse & report social media actions
  • Staying current with latest social media/online trends
  • Attend meetings
  • Collaborate with the team to create and run social media campaigns
  • Customise social media pages with engaging & original content and visuals

Key skills:

  • Tech. savvy!
  • Experience with social media websites e.g. Instagram, Facebook, Google, Twitter and more!
  • Organised – able to work flexibly (be engaged with social media around the clock)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Interpersonal skills – as direct connection between I Can and the public, need friendly & approachable online, and may need to deal with sensitive issues or deal with angry clients
  • Strong, professional written skills.

Web Developer

(Volunteer role spanning March – December 2015)

The purpose of this role will be to build and maintain I Can’s digital presence

Responsibilities:

  • Involved in the development of web and mobile applications
  • Keep up-to-date with new technologies and software developments
  • Demonstrate and receive feedback from the team on various tasks e.g. programming, database administration
  • Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Attend meetings

Key skills:

  • Understanding of basic programming (OOP)
  • Basic Back End knowledge (PHP, MySQL) and/or Front End knowledge (HTML5, CSS3)
  • Ability to work in agile manner
  • Ability to organise many priorities
  • Ability to work both as an individual and in a team

Web Designer/Graphic Designer

(Volunteer role spanning March – December 2015)

The purpose of this role will be to create and maintain I Can’s digital presence, especially in the layout and the design of the website. ↓ Show details

Responsibilities:

  • Designing the look, layout and features of I Can’s website and web and mobile applications
  • Work on I Can website: Maintenance, submission, and keeping it up-to-date
  • Develop site content and graphics e.g. icons, banners, images, audio enhancements
  • Design of brochures, posters and leaflets
  • Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Attend meetings

Key skills:

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • User Interface and User Experience (a bonus if you know this – not totally necessary)
  • Print design (a bonus if you know this – not totally necessary)
  • Ability to work in an agile manner
  • Ability to organise many priorities
  • Ability to work both as an individual and in a team

Project Manager, 2016 Launch

(Volunteer role spanning March 2015 – April 2016)

TThe purpose of this role will be to scope, plan and deliver the 2016 national launch event of I CAN Network in Melbourne, scheduled for February – March 2016

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing strategy and scope with National Director and leadership team (‘Core Enabler’s’)
  • Venue, speakers, entertainment/li>
  • Putting together a project plan that covers all aspects
  • Working with team members to deliver
  • Ensure good data gathering and relationship building of guests at the launch

Project Manager, 2016 National Tour

(Volunteer role spanning March 2015 – June 2016)

The purpose of this role will be to scope, plan and deliver the 2016 national tour of I CAN Network, spanning from March – June 2016

>Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing strategy with National Director and leadership team (‘Core Enabler’s’)
  • Putting together a scope for the national tour that identifies partnership opportunities and strategic needs of young Australians on the Autism Spectrum
  • Developing a project plan to help execute the national tour of I CAN Network (tentatively planned for March – June 2016)
  • Working with team members and partners to help the National Director and other ambassadors deliver the tour in different States and Territories
  • Feed in contacts and relationships from the tour into I CAN’s social media and database
