I CAN Network goes Regional

Our Network has grown massively since its birth in late 2013, but for much of its life, we’ve been restricted to metropolitan areas, for a variety of reasons ranging from funding to accessibility.

All that’s about to change in April, however, as with the support of the Warrnambool community, we are launching our first regional branch; I CAN South West!

This new branch of I CAN Network is the result of the collective vision of both our Chief Enabling Officer Chris Varney, and the local Boyle family.

Mepunga residents Lisa and Anthony Boyle recently invited Chris to Warrnambool to speak about I CAN’s mission. Inspired and impressed, they wanted to make our program accessible to young people across their region; which worked out great for us, as we’ve been wanting to expand into regional communities for some time. Together, we were able to make this goal a reality.

People on the spectrum in rural areas often have difficulty accessing support services. At I CAN Network, we recognize this need, and we aim to fulfil it by extending the reach of our program into regional Australia. I CAN South West is just the beginning

This is an exciting breakthrough for us, and we can’t wait to get started!
