Australians with Autism will now be able to access a nationally consistent and equitable diagnosis experience, thanks to the release of Australia’s first National Guideline for Autism diagnosis.
The guideline was released last Monday by the Autism CRC and follows two years of consultation and research across Australia.
“The new Guideline will be a gamechanger for people on the Spectrum and their families,” says Tiffany Mumford, Central Network Manager at the I CAN Network.
“We know that the diagnosis period is often the most fraught and emotional experience for people with Autism and their families.”
“This Guideline is a great step forward in the diagnostic journey for Autistics across their lifespan, and will set them on the track to access the services and supports they require.”
