I am very proud of what we’ve created through the I CAN Network since I first laid out the vision for it in my 2013 TEDx talk. We have become Australia’s largest Autistic-led, predominantly Autistic-staffed organisation, providing mentoring to more than 1500 Autistic young people nationwide each year!
Inevitably, we get a lot of interest in and questions about our work, including the two most common queries:
“What programs do you offer?”
“How can we sign up?”
Very often, it’s a parent, teacher or school leader asking those questions because they can see the value of our respectful, strengths-based approach.
And sometimes it’s Autistic young people themselves wanting to hear more about the safe, fun and validating spaces we create through our mentoring programs.
To more fully address these two frequent questions, I’ve asked three leaders from our I CAN mentoring team – Sam Rose, Caitlin Downie Kempson and James Cifuentes to join me in describing our most popular programs, including the specific steps to take in order to access them.
Thanks to the generosity of the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services, we’ve produced a webinar that covers:
- An Overview of I CAN Programs – Chris
- I CAN School-Based Mentoring Programs (Primary & Secondary) – Chris & Sam
- I CAN Online Group Mentoring – Chris & Caitlin
- I CAN Speakers Agency & Professional Development Workshops – Chris & James

Additionally, we’ve created a downloadable overview that provides key details for each of the programs above and where to go for more information.
Thank you for your interest in our programs and for supporting us as we work to build a world that embraces Autism!
