EMPOWERING AUTISTIC LEARNERS: SCHOOLS. TRANSITIONS. PATHWAYS
Over the last two years we have had close to 200 classroom teachers, allied health professionals, parents and carers attend one of our exciting professional development conferences. This year our professional development experience is themed on ‘Empowering Autistic learners: Schools, Transitions & Pathways’.
Our professional development day will be delivered by our teachers and allied health professionals from within the I CAN team and our mentors and mentees on the Autism Spectrum. Please see below for a brief outline of what the conference will cover. Each participant will be provided with a certificate that can be used towards CPD points under special needs.
- Introduction to Autism & I CAN Network
- Classroom Strategies & Quiet Magic Method
- Student Panel
- How to leverage processing styles & meet sensory needs
- How to access post-school pathways for Autistic students
- A chance to experience an I CAN mentoring session (Primary & Secondary stream available)
- Networking and Q & A time.

The I CAN Network have created professional development for families, educators and workplaces. The content is predominately designed and delivered by people on the Autism Spectrum.
